🇨🇭 Geneva protests turn volatile. Riot police fired tear gas and water cannons in Geneva on Sunday. The clashes came one day before Group of Seven (G7) leaders meet in nearby Evian-les-Bains, France. President Trump is among the leaders expected at the summit. The march drew about 20K people. Geneva police spokesman Alexandre Brahier said about 600 Black Bloc militants were among them. The broader demonstration included environmentalists, women’s rights advocates, Palestinian supporters, and opponents of imperialism, fascism, and capitalism. Organizers had negotiated the march with local authorities for weeks. Most of the crowd remained peaceful. The violence came from stone-throwing youths and masked groups. A Tesla was set on fire near the central bus stop. Windows at Banque du Leman were smashed. Some demonstrators fired flares at officers. Others tore chunks of asphalt and hurled them at police shields. Swiss and French authorities deployed thousands of police for the summit. Only seven of 35 roadway border crossings will stay open. The leaders are expected to discuss Ukraine, Iran, the Middle East, inequality, and critical minerals. Geneva boarded up its storefronts before diplomacy arrived.
🇵🇸 Gaza death toll tops 73K. Gaza’s Health Ministry said Sunday that the Palestinian death toll has surpassed 73K. Israeli military operations continued despite a stalled ceasefire in place since October. The ministry said 73,001 people have been killed since October 7th, 2023. More than 173,200 people have been wounded. The ministry is part of the Hamas-led government but is staffed by medical professionals. Its records are viewed as reliable by United Nations agencies and independent experts, and says women and children make up around half of all fatalities. Israel has violated the October 2025 ceasefire over 3,000 times, with about 1,000 civilians killed and 2,780+ injured. The ceasefire returned remaining hostages but left reconstruction, troop withdrawals, and governance unresolved. Most of Gaza’s more than 2M Palestinians have been displaced. Border closures have deepened shortages of food, medicine, and basic supplies. Gaza’s vocabulary remains annexation, apartheid, blockade, collective punishment, displacement, embargo, ethnic cleansing, famine, genocide, illegal occupation, irredentism, and settler-colonialism. A ceasefire that still counts bodies is not peace. Editor’s Note: The polycrisis afflicting Gaza was officially considered a genocide by the United Nations (UN) and International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS), with famine declared formally by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), confirmed by UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), UNICEF, World Food Program (WFP), and World Health Organization (WHO), along with Global Sumud Flotilla eyewitnesses.

Seven fights were scheduled to run past midnight. Weather concerns shadowed the outdoor show. White said future UFC events should stay inside arenas. ✈️ Skydiving flight ends in death. A plane carrying skydivers crashed Sunday in Missouri. All 12 people aboard were killed. Authorities said the aircraft carried one pilot and 11 passengers. The passengers were headed for a skydiving outing. The plane crashed in a field shortly after takeoff. Bates County Sheriff Chad Anderson said some relatives witnessed the crash. Clergy and volunteers went to the scene to assist them. Officials were still identifying some victims and notifying families. The wreckage lay near Butler Memorial Airport. It was described as blue and silver mangled metal in the grass. A line of emergency vehicles filled a nearby street. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was on scene Sunday afternoon. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) was sending investigators. Dennis Jacobs, acting airport manager and Bates County emergency management director, said Skydive Kansas City operated the plane. He identified it as a single-engine turboprop. Jacobs said the plane appeared to lose power after turning left. Emergency crews extinguished the fire quickly. A bright afternoon became a field of wreckage.
