🇫🇷 Le Pen says an ankle monitor would end her 2027 run. Marine Le Pen says an electronic bracelet would end her 2027 bid. The far-right National Rally leader is appealing a court verdict. Judges convicted her in March 2025 over European Parliament fund misuse. Prosecutors said the scheme ran from 2004 to 2016. The appeals court is set to rule on July 7th. Le Pen said she will not campaign if forced to wear a tracker. She framed it as political humiliation, not public safety. Party president Jordan Bardella, 30, is her heir apparent. The former secretary of state sat for a deposition that ran more than six hours. She said she does not recall ever meeting Epstein. Clinton also said she had no reason to suspect his trafficking operation. The interview was part of a Republican-led House Oversight inquiry. Chair James Comer said the committee is mapping who knew what and when. Bill Clinton is scheduled to testify next, also under subpoena. Lawyers for the Clintons called the process political theater and distraction. Republicans argue the paper trail matters as Epstein’s network resurfaces in court fights. 🏥 Walz pitches fraud crackdown after Medicaid money threat. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz rolled out an anti-fraud package under pressure. The move followed Vice President JD Vance’s threat to pause Medicaid money. Vance’s office said $259.5M in reimbursements is being withheld. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Mehmet Oz backed the freeze. Walz said the state will not let scammers define a safety net. His plan tightens oversight, expands audits, and adds fraud investigators. It also calls for a centralized inspector general office in state government. Minnesota has become a national symbol after the Feeding Our Future case. Prosecutors have charged 78 defendants and won 57 convictions in that scheme. About 1.2M Minnesotans use Medicaid, so the stakes are immediate.

🗽Mamdani brings mock paper to sell Trump on housing. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani brought a mock newspaper to the White House. He used it to pitch President Donald Trump on housing and infrastructure. Mamdani highlighted a Sunnyside Yard deck plan in Queens. The city wants $21B in federal support for the project. Officials say it could yield 12,000 homes and 30,000 jobs. The meeting lasted about an hour, aides said. Mamdani also raised the detainment of Ellie Aghayeva by immigration officials. He said Trump promised to review her case quickly. Mamdani handed chief of staff Susie Wiles a list of four more cases. The visit showed that in 2026, persuasion sometimes arrives on newsprint.

🎧 Burger King tests AI headsets that grade drive-thru manners. Burger King is testing artificial intelligence headsets to police politeness. Restaurant Brands International ($QSR) says the pilot covers 500 restaurants. The headsets listen for greetings like welcome and thank you. If the words go missing, managers get a prompt. Executives say the system is coaching, not surveillance. The company says it is not tracking individual workers over time. The tool also aims to cut drive-thru errors and speed orders. The voice model is powered by OpenAI technology, the company confirmed. Competitors are testing similar systems as labor costs rise. Fast food has always measured seconds, and now it measures manners too.
